Letter: Republicans in Congress ignoring important matters

Among the failures of the Congress to do the peoples's business:

-- Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott and the GOP refused to act on campaign finance reform.

-- Congress yielded to the tobacco companies on the tobacco bill.

-- As President Clinton pointed out Sept. 24, the Congress has presented him with only one of the numerous appropriation bills, thereby again threatening to close down government.

For these voting failures, which were carried out jointly and as a solid block, the voters should vote every one of those Republicans up for election out of office.
