Letter: Tyson has shown why he shouldn't be relicensed

That the Tyson camp would threaten Ghanem, the NSAC and Nevada is reprehensible. This latest Tyson misconduct is ample proof he should not be relicensed this year. In fact, I contend he should be banned for life! Let Tyson re-apply next year after proving he can stay out of trouble and conduct himself as a good citizen.

What is particularly galling is that the Tyson camp would try to bully, intimidate and coerce one of Nevada's greatest citizens, Ghanem, a man who won't be bullied nor bought.

Tyson is a "loose cannon" with a "snap factor." This was witnessed on TV by millions worldwide. When leaving the Sept. 19 hearing, Tyson couldn't start his motorcycle, so he angrily slammed his helmet to the ground (knowing the TV cameras are taping it), and belligerently got into a car and drove off. I postulate, Tyson is not too smart.

Surely he realized how this would look to the public. And, that's my point -- Tyson doesn't care and undoubtedly never will. He considers himself above the law (he's a convicted rapist) and common decent conduct (he bit off part of Holyfield's ear). Further, he now faces a lawsuit in Maryland for allegedly assaulting two senior citizens.

Therefore, I encourage concerned citizens to write or phone the NSAC here in Las Vegas, and request that Tyson not be relicensed this year.
