Letter: What have the Republicans done?
Monday, Oct. 5, 1998 | 9:44 a.m.
Why do they panic and go crazy every time they try to put in a minimum wage raise for poor people to try to meet living standards? Why don't they try to pass tobacco laws for teenagers? Why don't they try to introduce laws for gun control? Why don't they want to make Social Security solvent instead of using the money for everything else except where it belongs and the cry that it will be broke in the next 20 years? Why don't they pass a bill for the notch babies?
The first time they got someone who knows how to lead this country, the Republicans spend all their time trying to slander him instead of doing the job they are elected to do. Why didn't Bush and the GOP get rid of Saddam when they had the chance? Is that leadership?
Tell me what the GOP does beside taking care of rich people. I am 76 years old and I have yet to see a change for the better when the Republicans had control.
Look at your conscience if you have one and you won't have to make our country look so stupid by making the president's personal life the biggest issue in this country.
