A hole-by-hole look at the Desert Inn Golf Club

No. 1: 442-yard Par 4

Dogleg right with bunkers on both sides of the landing area and a lake guarding the left side of the fairway and front side of the large double green. It is reminiscent of the legendary Scottish links courses, sharing a 24,000-square-foot double green with the 10th hole.

No. 2: 421-yard Par 4

Cross bunkering angling across the fairway, making this relatively short hole difficult. Emphasis on tee-shot placement.

No. 3: 408-yard Par 4

Tree-lined dogleg right with out-of-bounds on both sides. Large fairway bunker on right side and sizable green is protected by several bunkers.

No. 4: 183-yard Par 3

Large undulating green, ringed with bunkers, makes club selection critical. The green was expanded to 50 yards in depth during the course's renovation, making it possible to have a 130-foot putt.

No. 5: 587-yard Par 5

The longest hole on the course. Slight dogleg right, with fairway bunkers and out-of-bounds on right. Heavily tree-lined on left. The two-tiered green requires a well-positioned approach shot.

No. 6: 442-yard Par 4

Straightaway hole with bunkers on the left side of the fairway. Well-bunkered, enlarged green produces a variety of pin-placement locations.

No. 7: 214-yard Par 3

Long carry over water to a large, heavily bunkered green that features a 153-foot putting surface from front right to back left. The lake, with a waterfall in the background, accents the left side of the green. A small pot bunker guards the front of the green.

No. 8: 450-yard Par 4

The longest par 4 on the course. Dogleg left with water a steep mounds left and a sand trap on the right, making a good drive crucial. Smooth, deep green with interesting mounding to the left and a series of swales in front and left of the green.

No. 9: 533-yard Par 5

An attractive lake with a series of waterfalls separates Nos. 9 and 18 on the left side of this slight dogleg right, protected by bunkers at the landing area both right and left. A stream protects the front of the green and flows down the right side of the fairway, crossing the fairway 160 yards from the green. Attractive stream and waterfalls definitely are in play on the left side of green.

Front Nine -- Par 36

No. 10: 518-yard Par 5

Dogleg right, strong bunkering at the landing area. The right side of the fairway and front of the green are guarded by water. A variety of challenging pin placements are possible on this double green shared with No. 1.

No. 11: 207-yard Par 3

Heavily bunkered, with grass bunker fronting the green, makes for difficult pin placements.

No. 12: 413-yard Par 4

Thick trees, two fairway bunkers and out-of-bounds on the right side requires a good drive to a narrow landing area. Very inviting large green, protected by several spacious bunkers.

No. 13: 411-yard Par 4

The angle of the dogleg was increased during renovation by moving the tee and the green to the right. The changes have emphasized the importance of an accurate tee shot, avoiding the bunkers on the left, in order to have a good angle at the pin.

No. 14: 431-yard Par 4

Dogleg left with sand and out-of-bounds on the right and trees on the left, causing many players to choose a shorter club off the tee, leaving a longer shot into this well-bunkered green that has some tricky pin placements.

No. 15: 501-yard Par 5

A tree-lined dogleg left is guarded by sand and water on the right. A long carry over water is required to reach the green in two, making it advisable to lay up on this hole.

No. 16: 178-yard Par 3

Tee shot is over a beautiful lake. A narrow bunker in front places an emphasis on pinpoint accuracy.

No. 17: 418-yard Par 4

Out-of-bounds and bunkers on the left, water and bunkers on the right side and stream bisecting the fairway 30 yards from the green make this a demanding hole. It is very easy to hide the pin on this long green.

No. 18: 436-yard Par 4

A great finishing hole. Dogleg right around a lake and large pine trees with out-of-bounds and sand on the left. Water cuts into the front right side of a green surrounded by bunkers, making the approach shot dangerous. A small stream very close to the far right edge of this green adds to the peril.
