Brief: Wade, Hornbuckle promoted

Daniel Wade, president of MGM Grand Hotel, was named executive vice president of the parent company, while William Hornbuckle assumed Wade's former position at the hotel-casino.

Wade is expected to play a key role in MGM's expansion into Detroit and other locales. He joined MGM Grand in 1991 and helped oversee design and construction of the resort, which has consistently earned four-star status from the Mobil Travel Guide. He previously worked at Harrah's, Circus Circus, Holiday Casino, the Maxim and the Aladdin Hotel.

Hornbuckle has been executive vice president of the MGM hotel since April, when he left his post as president of Caesars Palace. Prior to that, he was an executive at Mirage Resorts and was part of the team that helped design and open The Mirage.
