Candidate faces charges for lying about residence

The gross misdemeanor count filed against Republic candidate Michael Plaisted alleges he lied in an affidavit of candidacy by listing his address as 845 Dusk Drive.
The complaint says he doesn't live there or anywhere else in Assembly District 14 where he's running.
That seat is currently held by Democrat Ellen Koivisto.
The charges against Plaisted carry a maximum punishment of a year in the Clark County Detention Center and a $2,000 fine.
Plaisted could not be reached for comment late Thursday.
