The Las Vegas mayor attended the Nevada-New Mexico State football game and met with AFL-CIO representatives, who endorsed her over GOP candidate Kenny Guinn last month.
In their first of three debates before the Nov. 3 election, Guinn and Jones agreed on some issues and took a few shots at each other.
Jones said she thinks Guinn appeared rattled and scripted before the statewide television audience, showing why his huge early lead is on the verge of disappearing.
Guinn held a 15-point lead over Jones, according to a statewide poll conducted Sept. 25-28 for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and KTNV-TV, Channel 13.
Guinn had 51 percent compared with Jones' 36 percent. Four percent said they would vote for none of the above and 9 percent were undecided.
