Washoe County to test election system

County Registrar Laura Dancer said the computer counting the ballots apparently was not set to the proper processing speed.

The software manufacturer, Global Election Systems, disagrees. It thinks the problem was due to the county's adding additional modems to the system.

Dancer plans to test the system next week to get all the bugs out before the general election next month.
