Deer hunter OK after two nights in the wilderness

Elko County Undersheriff Clair Morris said 32-year-old Brian Green, 32, was overdue at the Pole Creek ranger station Saturday night. His friends reported him missing on Sunday.

The sheriff's department spent the rest of the day searching on foot, horseback and all-terrain vehicles. Airplanes and a helicopter from the Fallon Naval Air Station joined the hunt early Monday.

Green was found at midmorning by trail-sniffing dogs from Twin Falls, Idaho. He was flown to a Twin Falls hospital for treatment of leg injuries and exhaustion.

He apparently fell during the ordeal and was limping when searchers found him.

The undersheriff said Green carried only his rifle and was tracked about two miles into the wilderness.
