The 340,000 people who turned out at the lake and the adjacent camping areas was off about 7 percent from last year's 364,000 during the peak June through September period, the Lahontan Valley News reported.
Park Supervisor Keith Penner calls it an average season. But he thinks the year will end up with about 400,000 people. That's been the average the past four years.
Lahontan is one of the top five state park destinations in Nevada.
