McCarran coping with national "air rage" problem

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Lt. Bill Cavagnaro said police arrest a couple of unruly passengers a month at the busy airport. The problem is gaining attention because nobody wants to put up with rowdy passengers, he said.

Intoxication is the most frequent problem, he said. While the problem has been around for years, Cavagnaro said the response is changing, with airlines more inclined to prosecute unruly passengers.

McCarran spokesman Adam Mayberry said there may be more incidents involving Las Vegas-bound passengers because it's a leisure market and business passengers are less likely to be unruly.
