Brief: Sports books will lose millions from canceled NBA games

"It will," said Bob Smith, a spokesman for Leroy's Race and Sports Books, which operates books in casinos throughout the state. "It could be millions, and if it goes longer it could be tens of millions."
Football is still "king" in terms of its contribution to sports book wagering, and basketball is tied with baseball for a close second, Smith said.
Because football is now in full swing, and the baseball World Series is close to starting, gamblers really aren't focusing on basketball yet, said Smith.
"People haven't really digested that yet," he said.
