Letter: Inauguration won't be in year 2000

I refer to the recent column and Howard Kleinberg's reference to "the next president will be inaugurated in 2000." What makes it hilarious is that the next president will be inaugurated 11 months before he is voted into office.

According to my calendar, voting will take place in November 2000, and the new president will be inaugurated on or about January 12, 2001. Wake up, all you media mavens, 2000 is the final year of the 20th century, not the first year of the 21st.
