A week after forfeiting seven games for using two academically ineligible players, the Bishop Gorman soccer team has been forced to forfeit another victory in response to a bench-clearing brawl.
During the second-half of the Gaels' 5-1 win over Palo Verde on Tuesday, Gorman reserves poured off the team's bench in response to an on-field fight.
Palo Verde appealed the outcome, citing Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association rule 2080-5, and on Wednesday the Panthers were awarded a victory by Commissioner of Officials Mark Ratner.
According to the rule, "If a majority of the members of a team leaves the non-playing area, the contest must be ruled as a forfeiture."
