Letter: An alternative to flooding of underpass

Growth depleted this flow of liquid gold over time and the city and county had to tap the Colorado River.

However, the floodwaters that currently make underpasses at Charleston Boulevard and Bonanza Road impassable could be routed to the former water company pump site on Valley View Boulevard, where it could be reinjected into the aquifer. The ponding facilities already exist at that site and filtering machinery could be installed there with relative ease.

I think this type solution could help to ease the valley's increasingly desperate water shortage at far less cost than what the Flood Control District disposal plan proposes.
