Letter: Hypocrisy reigns with new law

Our fat-cat Congress just did a big favor to the fat-cat bankers by passing the new personal bankruptcy law.

Granted, there are abuses by people causing financial loss to the bank. Conversely, the greedy bankers, in their quest for more and more profits, squandered tons of billions in ill advised loans.

Again, the bankers ran to Congress, and Congress heaped one-half trillion dollars in debt on the taxpayer.

So where do the credit-card companies and banks get off crying about losses from people who in most cases are struggling to make ends meet?

Unfortunately, these folks can't cry out to Congress to bail them out.

A year ago the banking industry had a profit in excess of $50 billion.

Please tell me which bank ran to Congress with even a few million profit dollars to be applied to the national debt?
