Anil Kumar Gupta and Ernest Caldera are accused by Tim Groitzch of failing to repay the note.
According to the complaint, Groitzch was induced to make the loan after the defendants told him they owned bonds worth about "50 times their face amount."
Attempts to contact both defendants failed. Gupta and wife, Shruti Mirsa, were involved in a failed attempt last summer to by the Vikings.
However, after their attempt became public, questions about their finances began to surface.
