Brief: Surgery centers subpoenaed

The Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services issued subpoenas for patient records, said Columbia/HCA spokesman Jeff Prescott.
The Nashville, Tenn.-based company has made records available to investigators as part of its effort to cooperate with the government probe and to try to bring it to a close.
Columbia is one of the biggest hospital operators in Las Vegas.
