Letter: Board fouled in Tyson decision

The Nevada State Athletic Commission did a great injustice to the world of sports. By allowing Mike Tyson, a convicted rapist and known cannibal, to box again is showing the world that the commission has no morals.
When pro sports of all forms get a backbone and rid their rings and playing fields of garbage such as Mike, only then will sports gain some respectability. What our children are learning about sports is that if you play for pay you can rape, use and sell drugs and generally mistreat laws and other humans.
If an athlete breaks any civil law or league rules, he should be banned for life. It's not to much to ask when these people are making far more than what they are worth. If they can't abide by the rules then let them find out what it is like out in the real world.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission made a real bad decision when it placed money over conscience and threw all respectability out the window. I can never again have any respect for professional boxing and will not waste my time by watching it.
