Letter: Give Thunder some love

Regarding Tim Graham's Oct. 8 column on the Las Vegas Thunder management: It's so easy to be judgmental when you're on the outside looking in. The challenge lies in making positive comments about a program when its down or struggling. Obviously, you are not up to that challenge, nor is your paper.

You guys do the same thing to the UNLV football program. Those kids aren't professional athletes, yet your paper is merciless. Wouldn't it be really swell if the hometown paper would support the hometown team, rather than rip it apart at every opportunity?

The Thunder has hung in here for six years, despite poor attendance, despite poor support from your paper and despite contract disputes with the Thomas and Mack. The team is very active in our community, particularly with our children. I think it's time Las Vegas and your paper show the same commitment to them.
