Editorial: To be fair, Mr. Adelson

We print the following in the sense of fairness.
On Monday, we criticized Sheldon Adelson and his Committee for Fairness for their distorted attacks on County Commission candidate Dario Herrera. We found the ads offensive because they portrayed Herrera as a little boy who makes deals with "fat cats."
The editorial also stated that the ads make fun of his ethnic background. On further review of the ads, we thought that was stretching it a bit, so we had deleted the line from the editorial. Halloween gremlins being what they are, the line mistakenly ended up in the editorial when it was printed.
It was not our intent to throw additional mud on an already dirty campaign, and we wanted to set the record straight.
