Brief: Henderson firm posts profit

Alta Gold Co. of Henderson said its third-quarter profit of $696,000 or 2 cents per share was even with the year-ago quarter's results of $664,000 and 2 cents.
But this year's quarterly revenue of $5.2 million was up from $2.6 million in the 1997 third quarter.
Chief Executive Robert Pratt said he's pleased with the profit, considering the slump in gold prices.
