Letter: In praise of successful campaign to end telemarketing inmates plan

I'm elated. I commend the Sun and other media for keeping the focus on this issue. In my Aug. 18 letter to the editor I stated, "I suggest the people write in protest ... to stop this anti-public scheme." And, we the people did. We can rightfully enjoy this victory.
I suggest this proves if we the people are united and protest other actions detrimental to public safety and the common good, they, too can be eliminated.
I praise Sun letter writer Douglas R. Orr for spearheading this initiative, David M. Barajas, et al and the public.
Of great importance, let us ever remember -- without media support and those public officials who opposed the plan, there would be no victory. Kudos to them.
