Letter: Clinton should be praised for his strength under fire

I'm sure that Monica Lewinsky's parents are absolutely mortified at their daughter's many and varied sexual encounters over the years being broadcast throughout the country and the world. There is no need for Starr to continue his constant harassment of people just to get them to say what he wants them to say.

Starr's tactics are akin to the methods the North Koreans used to brainwash our captured soldiers and the methods Joseph McCarthy used to destroy countless individuals' careers and lives during his Communist witch hunt.

President Clinton has humbled himself before the world and admitted he did something morally wrong. He should never have been put in that position -- only because of the self-righteous, hypocritical, right-wing conservative Republicans has he been forced into having his privacy invaded by the likes of Ken Starr.

In their rabid fervor to discredit Clinton they are instead weakening the country's image as the most powerful democracy in the world. I applaud Clinton for his dignity and strength of purpose during this most trying time.

Before judging him and persecuting him for his indiscretion remember the admonishment "Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone."
