Six arrested on drug charges at Burning Man event

Five of the people face drug-trafficking charges, including Corey O'Brien, 19, Lakeside, Calif., who already was wanted on a $75,000 warrant for possession of a controlled substance in Illinois.

Officers for the Washoe and Pershing county sheriff's offices said they got a tip from the security team - the Black Rock Rangers - that several people were "stealing various items" and selling psychedelic mushrooms.

Authorities searched the suspects' bags and found 150 grams of mushrooms, 487 grams of LSD, about one ounce of marijuana and $4,300 cash.

The counterculture celebration of arts is expected to draw more than 10,000 people to the northern Nevada desert about 120 miles north of Reno this weekend. The climax comes Sunday night with the burning of a 50-foot, wooden man.

In addition to O'Brien, drug-trafficking charges were filed against Justin Aiken, 24, Las Vegas; Morgan Duncan, 21, Helena, Calif.; and Ryan Tena, 20, San Diego.

Donnovan Cambell, 20, Las Vegas, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Those five were booked into the Washoe County Jail. The sixth person, a juvenile, was booked into Wittenberg juvenile hall.

The arrests also involved officers for the Bureau of Land Management and the Nevada Division of Investigation.
