Matt Abatte, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 29, 1918, in Hawthorne, N.J. A resident for 31 years, he was a retired jewelry salesman and a World War II veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; two sons, William Abatte and Charles Abatte, both of Minneapolis; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

DAVID AYERSMAN

David Ayersman, 50, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born March 17, 1948, in Germany. A resident for 29 years, he was a security supervisor at the Flamingo Hilton.

He is survived by one brother, Richard Ayersman of Mississippi.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Griffith United Methodist Church, 1701 E. Oakey Blvd. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

MAURICE DONTE BENNETT

Maurice Donte Bennett, 21, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 31, 1977 in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a sanitation worker for Silver State Disposal Service.

He is survived by his fiancee, Latara Swanson, one daughter, Destiny S. Bennett, and one son, Maurice Donte Bennett Jr., all of Las Vegas; his mother, Dorothy Heath, his father, Ray Brown, and two sisters, Aria D.R. Grimble and Kiesha Brown, all of North Las Vegas; and one brother, Tavaries D. Bennett of Las Vegas,

AGNES JEAN BURKIN and SHAYRN KAYE BURKIN

Agnes Jean Burkin, 70, and her daughter, Shayrn Kaye Burkin, 48, both of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. Agnes was born Feb. 24, 1928, and Shayrn was born Dec. 14, 1949, both in Kansas City, Kan. Residents for 38 years, Agnes was a retired aide in education and Shayrn was a casino assistant head cashier.

They are survived by Agnes' sons and Shayrn's brothers, Gerald Burkin and Carl Burkin, both of Las Vegas; Agnes' two sisters, Patricia Carey and Alexandra Terry, both of Kansas City; and Agnes' two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

HELENA JOAN CENATIEMPO

Helena Joan Cenatiempo, 55, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 12, 1942, in Chester, Pa. A resident for three years, she was a secretary for a medical institution.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard; one daughter, Eva Buxton of Laguna, Beach, Calif.; two sons, Leonard Cenatiempo Jr. of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Michael Cenatiempo of Las Vegas; her mother, Emily Stanaitis of Lansing, Mich.; four brothers, Leon Stanaitis and Bert Stanaitis, both of Pennsylvania, Bob Stanaitis of Delaware and Ray Stanaitis of New Jersey; and one sister, Evelyn Chemyez of Okemos, Mich.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church. A private burial will follow.

DOREEN ELIZABETH CODY

Doreen Elizabeth Cody, 63, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 1, 1935, in California. A resident for 30 years, she was a bookkeeper.

She is survived by one daughter, Christy Guedry, and one son, John Cody, both of Las Vegas; her mother, Nelma Combs of California; three brothers, Allen Combs of Washington state and Ken Combs and Larry Combs, both of California; and 11 grandchildren.

TRACIE COLEMAN SR.

Tracie Coleman Sr., 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 7, 1919, in Bradley, Ark. A resident for 45 years, he was a pipe fitter, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars 10057.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; one daughter, Willie Smith, and one brother, Lee Coleman, both of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-6 p.m. Sunday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

GRACE A. DAVIS

Grace A. Davis, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 21, 1925, in Chattanooga, Tenn. A resident for nine years, she worked for the Respiratory Therapist Association of California and was a member of the Los Angeles Democratic Women's Association.

She is survived by three daughters, Tanya Miller of Las Vegas, Deborah Bradshaw of Danville, Calif., and La Kayla Davis of Compton, Calif.; two sons, DuWayne V. Davis and Walter V. Davis, both of Compton; three brothers, Mose Duckett and Bob Robinson, both of Chattanooga, and William Duckett of Nashville, Tenn.; three sisters, Martha Jenkins of Los Angeles and Margarette Jean Rodriquez and Ethel Lattimore, both of Chattanooga; and eight grandchildren.

Esther G. Dimaya, 53, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born March 28, 1945, in the Philippines. A resident for 20 years, she was a registered nurse, a member of the Philippines Registered Nurses Association and a member of the Philippine-American Association of Las Vegas.

She is survived by her husband, Elias deLeon Dimaya; three sons, Darren Joseph Dimaya, Jon David Dimaya and Brian Patrick Dimaya, all of Las Vegas; four sisters, Wilma Cottone of La Canada, Calif., and Evelyn Gazmen, Mary Ann Roldan and Virginia Sevilleja, all of Las Vegas; and four brothers, Rogelio Gazmen, Franklin Gazmen and Roger Gazmen, all of the Philippines, and Ricardo Gazmen of Hawaii.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a 5 p.m. rosary Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive, and graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

MARY MACDONALD DOLE

Mary MacDonald Dole, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 10, 1915, in Indianapolis. A resident for 53 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Mesquite Club of Las Vegas.

She is survived by one son, Frank MacDonald of Carson City; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

JOVITA IRENE FIGUEROA

Jovita Irene Figueroa, 93, of Henderson died Sept. 2 in a local care center. She was born Feb. 15, 1905, in Mexico. A resident for 1 1/2 years, she was a retired seamstress for a clothing company, a member of Rebekah Lodge 358 National City, Calif., National City Pythian Sisters, National City Chamber of Commerce and International Clubs of San Diego and a volunteer for the Heart and Lung Association.

She is survived by one daughter, Norma A. Tougas of Boulder City; one son, James Walter Jenkins of National City; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Services and burial will be in San Diego.

ADAM BELMONT HAM

Adam Belmont Ham, 77, of Panaca died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 1, 1920, in Rombauer, Mo. A resident for 22 years, he was a teamster with Local 631 and retired as a tireman at Post Transportation in Henderson.

He is survived by his wife, Viktoria; two daughters, Cynthia Pfaendler and Viktoria Rice, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Rachel Harrelson of Cave City, Ark., and Georgia Rose Davis of Batesville, Ark.; and two grandchildren.

IRVING FRANK HARDING

Irving Frank Harding, 88, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born July 7, 1910, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 30 years, he was a printer for the Las Vegas Sun and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 1312.

He is survived by one son, Charles of Grand Island, N.Y.; two daughters, Barbara Radley of Kenmore, N.Y., and Susan Downs of Littleton, Colo.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Robert Paul Holmes, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 2, 1927, in New York City. A resident for 29 years, he was a retired postal worker and a Berlin airlift, Korean War and Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Paul Holmes and Kurt Holmes, both of Las Vegas; six stepdaughters, Patricia A. Trembley of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Michelle Trembley-Rothkop of San Francisco, Annette Harrison and Sally L. Trembley, both of Las Vegas, Toni Ade of Henderson and Laura Trembley of Ohio; five stepsons, Daniel E. Trembley of Las Vegas, Gene Trembley, Thomas D. Dodds and Timothy R. Dodds, all of Phoenix, and Steven Trembley.

Cleo Marie Kelly, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 14, 1925, in Cascade, Mont. A resident for 39 years, she was a retired Clark County School District food service worker.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Bunker, two sons, Phillip Kelly and Jeff Kelly, and one sister, Nelda Macklin, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Lorin Madsen of Layton, Utah, and Charles Madsen of Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Friday in the LDS Evergreen Ward Chapel. Graveside services will be noon Friday in Memory Gardens.

Donald W. Love, 67, of Ridgway, Pa., died Saturday in a medical center. He was born Sept. 9, 1930, in Avis, Pa. A former resident of Las Vegas for 35 years, he was a cable foreman for a utility company and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

He is survived by two sons, Donald W. Love Jr. and Ronald Love, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, David Love of Ridgway and Jack Love of Florida; one sister, Peggy Love of Altoona, Pa.; and four grandchildren.

Sheila Rae Archie Lucas, 44, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born March 10, 1954, in Las Vegas. A lifetime resident, she was a caregiver for a private group home.

She is survived by her husband, Roger James; one daughter, Monica Archie, and one son, Syvel Maurice Archie, both of Las Vegas; three brothers, Robert Archie of Las Vegas, Alexander Archie of Reno and Leon Johnson of Tacoma, Wash.; four sisters, Bertha Morris, Katie Dickens, Yvonne Archie and Myrdus Tellis, all of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

TRUMAN O'DELL 'MAC' MCCARTNEY

Truman O'Dell "Mac" McCartney, 63, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born June 9, 1935, in Steubenville, Ohio. A resident for 19 years, he was a millwright, an Air Force veteran and a member of American Legion Post 40.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; one son, Larry Dean McCartney of California; four daughters, Melissa McCartney Peldo of Henderson, Terry Vanderwerff and Carrie McCartney, both of California, and Sherry Bodenlos of Missouri; one brother Larry McCartney of Michigan; and four sisters, Irene McGuire, Jerri Maggar and Shirley Henry, all of Ohio, and Carolyn Shockley.

Orville "O.J." McCloud, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 5, 1923, in Elba, Neb. A resident for 41 years, he was a security guard for a newspaper company and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Eva; two sisters, Ella Jensen of Laguna Hills, Calif., and Rose Allbee of Thornton, Colo.; and two grandchildren.

GLENN RICHARD MCCOMBS

Glenn Richard McCombs, 66, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 2, 1931, in Traverse City, Mich. A resident for seven years, he was an oiler for General Motors in Michigan.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Ann; three daughters, Kathy Homolka of Paxton, Neb., Gloria Kaysen of Decatur, Ind., and Veronica Price of Vienna, Va.; two sons, Harry Peterson of Las Vegas and William Peterson of Brooklyn, Mich.; two brothers, Donald McCombs of Dearborn Heights, Mich., and Gene McCombs of Michigan; five sisters, Bertha Barnes of Paramount, Calif., Ester Odom and Lenora Sanders, both of Dearborn Heights, Mich., Maxine Jeters and Adeline Almond of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Bob Mykovich, 60, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born May 26, 1938, in McKeesport, Pa. A resident for one year, he was a retired computer data processing manager, a Navy veteran, a member of the Club of Alcoa for 25 years and a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He is survived by his wife, Bara; and two sons, Robert Thad Mykovich and Dan Mykovich, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 8-9 a.m. Thursday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Nathaniel W. Nelson Sr., 86, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 31, 1911, in Ashdown, Ark. A resident for 20 years, he was a member of the Zodiac Social and Charity Club and a deacon of Victory Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Loyse M.; one son, Nathaniel W. Nelson Jr. of Los Angeles; four daughters, Gloria C. Andrew and Nathalia M. Frierson, both of Compton, Calif., Suzette R. Nelson of Inglewood, Calif., and Lori Y. Nelson of Lancaster, Calif.; one sister, Blanche N. Carter of Gardena, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Dr. Maurice J. Niebaum, 64, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 29, 1934, in Fremont, Neb. A resident for 30 years, he was a physician and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one brother, Lowell T. Niebaum of Las Vegas; two aunts, Laura Fulrohdt of Fremont and Mamie Sievers of Colorado; and one uncle, Jack Niebaum of Fremont.

Gary David Pinjuv, 43, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 16, 1955, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a theater usher.

He is survived by his father, John Pinjuv, and one sister, Michaelyn Pinjuv, both of Las Vegas; and five brothers, John Pinjuv Jr. and Charles Pinjuv, both of Reno, and James Pinjuv, Paul Pinjuv and Shane Pinjuv, all of Las Vegas.

Pete Rendon, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 19, 1921, in Port Lavaca, Texas. A resident for six years, he was a retired foreman for a boat manufacturing company and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine; seven sons, Robert Rendon, Roger Rendon and Richard Rendon, all of Las Vegas, Roland Rendon of Henderson, Ray Rendon of Piedmont, Okla., Raymond Rendon of Houston and Ruben Rendon of Victoria, Texas; two daughters, Rosemary Benitez of Las Vegas and Rebecca Rendon of Corpus Christi, Texas; three brothers, Daniel Rendon of Los Angeles, and Lupe Rendon and Bobby Rendon, both of Victoria; and two sisters, Irene Garcia and Cecilia De Hoyos, both of Victoria; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Carol Mabel Sanchez, 46, of Nevada died Saturday in Nevada. She was born Nov. 2, 1951, in California. A resident for 18 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Jimmy Shubin of Nevada; one daughter, Romana Sanchez, and her mother, Maxine Holbrook, both of Las Vegas.

Michael Bernard Skinner, 57, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 9, 1941, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for 23 years, he was a professional magician/entertainer.

He is survived by his fiancee, Medie Bides; and one sister, Mary Ellen Leece of Flagstaff, Ariz.

MICHAEL CEDRIC SYKES

Michael Cedric Sykes, 41, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in North Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 25, 1957, in Cleveland. A resident for six months, he was disabled.

He is survived by one daughter, Octavia Sykes, and his mother, Lestine Sykes, both of North Las Vegas; and one sister, Joslyn Bell of Cleveland.

BLANCHE EDITH UEHLING

Blanche Edith Uehling, 86, of Boulder City died Sunday in Mammouth, Mont. She was born March 20, 1912, in Bartow, Fla. A resident for 55 years, she was the owner-operator of a fabric store for 15 years, a member of the AAUW and Lend-A-Hand.

She is survived by two daughters, Marjorie J. Klem of Loomis, Calif., and Jane G. Lyon of The Dalles, Ore.; one son, Edmund V. Uehling of Las Vegas; one sister, Marjorie Riegel of Tempe, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled Sept. 18 in St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Boulder City.
