Hispanic unity march scheduled

In announcing the Sept. 18 march, Jody Hernandez said the Aug. 30 death of Resendez has unified Carson's Hispanic community, which is upset about the focus on rights of 12 Indians charged in the case.
The Indian community staged a similar march to show support for the defendants last week, and Hernandez said, "Their unity is fine."
"But what I see is these guys skating off, some with second-degree murder convictions. That's only 20 years max," said Hernandez, who was asked to speak by the victim's brother, Jose Resendez.
