APARTMENT CONSTRUCTION CALLED DEFECTIVE -- Olen Residential Realty Corp. sued Robert V. Jones Corp. in Clark County District Court, alleging defective construction by Robert V. Jones of a 484-unit apartment complex owned and managed by Olen. The complex, known as Indian Hills, was completed in 1989. The suit seeks unspecified damages. Robert V. Jones officials couldn't be reached for comment.

BUSINESS PARTNERS IN LITIGATION -- Arturo Cossini sued business partner John Flavell in Clark County District Court, asking for appointment of a receiver to oversee a company the two men formed in 1997, A&J Consolidated Enterprises. The partnership was formed to buy and manage a restaurant-bar known as Carollo's. Cossini alleges Flavell has failed to keep appropriate records and will not let Cossini inspect the books. Attempts to contact Flavell failed.

VENETIAN TO BE COMPLETED ON TIME -- The $1.2 billion Venetian hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip will be completed next April 21, and possibly a week earlier. That's according to Venetian executives, who on Wednesday announced the completion guarantee by construction manager Lehrer McGovern Bovis. The Venetian says it will be the world's largest hotel and convention complex with 3,036 hotel suites, a 116,000-square-foot casino, 500,000 square feet of retail space, 500,000 square feet of meeting space at The Venetian Congress Center and a direct link to the 1.15 million-foot Sands Expo and Convention Center.
