Jessie Ashley, 88, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born May 25, 1910, in Upshur County, Texas. A resident for four years, she was a retired practical nurse.

She is survived by one son, Charles Ashley of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

MONTEZ MCDADE BAIRD

Montez McDade Baird, 92, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born July 31, 1906, in Kentucky. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by one son, Daniel M. Baird of Boulder City; one sister, Mary Nelle Wright of Fulton, Ky.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

WOODIE BOWIE

Woodie Bowie, 57, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 21, 1941, in Lawson, Miss. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired hotel kitchen helper.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee; three brothers, Estee Bowie and Roy Bowie, both of St. Paul, Minn., and Cleotis Bowie of Lena, Miss.; and one sister, Josephine Ealey of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main.

DOERISE E. CLARK

Doerise E. Clark, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 6, 1918, in Seattle. A resident for 11 years, she was an electronics worker.

She is survived by three sons, Keith Clark, William M. Clark Sr. and Jeffrey R. Clark; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

HYMAN COHEN

Hyman Cohen, 85, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 6, 1913, in California. A resident for 60 years, he was a retired blackjack dealer and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one stepdaughter, Nirmal Almeida of Las Vegas; and one stepson, Sandor Shapery of San Diego.

No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

VIRGINIA JEAN CUDD

Virginia Jean Cudd, 60, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 26, 1938, in Burley, Idaho. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby; one daughter, Leslie Buckley of Santa Ana, Calif.; three sons, Larry Sutton of California, Steven Steele of Henderson and Gary Steele of Garden Grove, Calif.; two sisters, Judy Voyen of Orange, Calif., and Merna of California; and one grandchild.

BEATRICE DU VAN

Beatrice Du Van, 69, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 9, 1928, in Panguitch, Utah. A resident for 61 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Tom Du Van, and one daughter, Sandra B. Sharp, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Derry Fennel of Apple Valley, Calif.; three sisters, Darlene Ayersman and Charlene Lopez, both of Las Vegas, and Carol Benavides of San Diego; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

GABRIELLE THERESA BEDSON DOMINGUEZ

Gabrielle Theresa Bedson Dominguez, 1 month, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 1, 1998, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her father, Joseph Dominguez, and her mother, Brooke Susan Bedson, both of Las Vegas; her grandparents, Ed and Sue Bedson of Cleveland, Jose Dominguez and Blanca Barrios, both of Las Vegas; and her great-grandfather, Charles Trufant of Las Vegas.

Visitation was scheduled one half hour prior to 1:30 p.m. services today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Babyland at Paradise Memorial Gardens.

LOUISE K. EARL

Louise K. Earl, 96, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. She was born Jan. 24, 1902, in Dresden, Germany. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Juliana Birkenmaier of Las Vegas; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

HILDA 'BILLIE' EISEN

Hilda "Billie" Eisen, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born March 14, 1914, in Alabama. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Solomon; two daughters, Carol Halfon of Mineola, N.Y., and Barbara Berg of Las Vegas; one sister, Jeannie Bush of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will follow at noon Friday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

NORMA T. FEENEY

Norma T. Feeney, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born May 29, 1924, in North Carolina. A resident for 10 years, she was an aircraft inspector.

She is survived by her husband, William F.; one son, William J. Feeney; one daughter, Joyce Sachs; her father, Maylon Midgett; two brothers, Joe and Carl; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

AL FRIEND

Al Friend, 69, of Las Vegas died Sept. 2 in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 26, 1928, in Missoula, Mont. A resident for nine years, he was a retired federal government intelligence officer and Korean War and Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Vilai; three sons, Steve Friend of Seattle and Jack Friend and Lewis Friend, both of Arlington, Va.; one daughter, Kathy Perraut of Macon, Ga.; one sister, Ruth Seaward of Portland, Ore.; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 9:15 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

JOSE 'JOE' GABALDON

Jose "Joe" Gabaldon, 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 16, 1922, in San Luis, N.M. A resident for four years, he was a retired serviceman for Southern Union Gas Co. where he worked for 35 years, was a probate judge for two years, served 12 years as county commissioner in New Mexico and 12 years on the City Council. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in New Mexico.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Celia T.; three daughters, Patricia Lucero of Albuquerque, N.M., and Geraldine Meyer and Linda Vinsko, both of Las Vegas; three sons, Joe I. Gabaldon, Harold Gabaldon and Christopher Gabaldon, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Verna Montoya of Albuquerque; two brothers, Antonio Gabaldon and George Gabaldon, both of Bernalillo, N.M.; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday with a 3 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

WILLIAM CLINTON HAMILTON

William Clinton Hamilton, 52, of Boulder City died Saturday in Boulder City. He was born March 8, 1946, in Cleveland. A resident for four years, he was disabled, was an Army veteran and a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1682 in Boulder City.

He is survived by his wife, Mila; one daughter, Maria Hamilton of Boulder City; and one sister, Virginia Pecnik of Mesa, Ariz.

Janet G. Henderson, 43, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 15, 1954, in Ventura, Calif. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, John R.; two sons, Jason J. Henderson and Christopher A. Henderson, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Julia Serrano of Santa Paula, Calif.; and three brothers, Joe Hernandez of Oxnard, Calif., and Rudy Gamez and David Hernandez, both of Santa Paula.

Lawrence C. "Sugie" Hodge, 56, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 22, 1942, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 17 years, he was a truck driver, an Army veteran and a member of Teamsters Union Local 631 in Las Vegas.

He is survived by three daughters, Michelle Koester of Dothan, Ala., Daphne Shaw of Clarksville, Tenn., and Shawn Mitchell of Las Vegas; two sons, Christopher Hodge of Cornwall, N.Y., and the Rev. Timothy Hodge of Clarksville; his mother, Helen Hodge of Brooklyn; one brother, Haywood Hodge III of Las Vegas; and 11 grandchildren.

Mayhing Tai Lai, 63, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born March 15, 1935, in Canton, China. A resident for 28 years, she was a retired hotel pantry worker.

She is survived by one son, Keri Lai of Las Vegas; her mother, Yaun Kwai Leung, and one brother, Leung Yau Dai, both of Los Angeles; and one sister, Sin Hing Dai of Las Vegas.

Lori L. Lelis, 69, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 11, 1929, in the Philippines. A resident for 25 years, she was a schoolteacher.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Kemper.

Arthur Martyn Jr., 56, of Las Vegas died Monday in California. He was born Dec. 10, 1941, in Hartford, Conn. A resident for eight years, he was a trucking company owner-operator and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn M.; three daughters, Wendy Berude of Connecticut, Lucy Bryant of Florida and Amanda Martyn of Las Vegas; five sons, Artie F. Martyn III of California, Sam Martyn of Arizona, Pete Martyn of Massachusetts, Kevin Martyn of Las Vegas and Jerry Martyn of Florida; three sisters, Ruth Dashosh of Las Vegas, Nadine Johnson of Florida and Cynthia Bergman of Colorado; one brother, Raymond Simon of Massachusetts; and 10 grandchildren.

Wallace H. Painter, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 21, 1924, in Royal Oak, Mich. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired firefighter and World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Dottie; four sons, Rick Painter of Shelby Township, Mich., Larry Painter and Kevin Painter, both of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Timothy Painter of Horatio, Ark.; one daughter, Patricia Reinking of Shelby Township; and eight grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Bateman and Debbie Walker, and one son, Charlie Younce, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
