Letter: Democrats should fight back; they've got the ammunition

Speaking of integrity, as I look back on the personal history of our former presidents, it brings to mind the following facts: President Dwight Eisenhower had an adulterous affair during World War II; our beloved President John F. Kennedy had his share of affairs also; President Ronald Reagan (divorced, formerly married to Jane Wyman) impregnated Nancy Reagan before he married her; and most disgustingly, it was revealed on television some time ago, that Newt Gingrich went to visit his first wife at a hospital and while there, he handed her divorce papers as she lie in her bed suffering with cancer treatment.

The Republicans are so eager and sanctimonious (i.e., Sen. Trent Lott/Rep. Dan Burton) to willingly chastise Clinton's integrity on television almost daily. I sit in wonderment as to why the Democratic Party doesn't publicly "fight fire with fire" on television regarding the above-known affairs of the Republicans?

I personally do not condone what Clinton did. But to quote an old but familiar cliche: People (Republicans) who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones at other human beings, particularly Clinton. We must support our president through these trying times for the sake of his family, the American people, and his country, the United States of America.
