Man shot to death at apartment complex

Metro Police homicide investigators were looking for a motive to the valley's most recent homicide after they found a 28-year-old man dead in a southwest Las Vegas apartment complex parking lot Sunday night.
The victim was talking with friends near the pool of the complex in the 3700 block of South Wynn Road when the gunman walked up, exchanged words with the victim.
When the gunman pulled out a handgun, the victim ran but was fatally shot once in his chest, said homicide Lt. Wayne Petersen.
Authorities have withheld the victim's name until relatives are notified.
The gunman is described as a black man in his 20s, approximately 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, 200 pounds, with long, shoulder-length hair. He was wearing a blue and white short-sleeved shirt, blue and white striped shorts and a dark ball cap. The man who the gunman was with also is believed to be in his 20s and possibly shorter. Witnesses said the man was wearing dark clothing.
