Letter: Saying he's sorry doesn't relieve Clinton of facing consequences

However, I do forgive him for lying to us, the American public. I believe that it took a proverbial good smack upside his head to help him see the error of his ways (I know that is usually how it is for me) and truly feel remorse for his conduct.

Still, we must remember there is a difference between forgiveness and justice. When I run a red light, I may truly be sorry for my actions, but that won't stop me from getting a ticket. Every action has its consequences.

People continually make the comment about casting the first stone. God's grace means that He forgives us and allows us into Heaven. It doesn't mean that we don't have to face punishment for our conduct (ask Carla Faye Tucker).

The only way this country will truly begin to heal is when Clinton does the honorable thing and steps down.
