Chiropractor's trial goes to jury

Hansen lost his license for promoting a cancer cure that the Nevada Chiropractic Board didn't accept. Now, he faces two charges that he went on practicing medicine.

Hansen allowed no defense, although he disrupted the opening minutes of the trial in Elko when he wrapped himself in an American flag.

Elko District Judge Jack Ames ordered Hansen handcuffed and threatened to put duct tape across his mouth if he didn't settle down.

Hansen offered no defense in his behalf, although his appointed attorney, Matt Stermitz, said his client was targeted by "dysfunctional busybodies who wanted to get Hansen in trouble."

Jurors got the case Wednesday afternoon and deliberated until early evening, then returned this morning.

Hansen offered to cure patients of cancer with a whirlpool bath he had set up in a trailer at a recreational vehicle park.
