Letter: President's idea of 'sorry' lies only in getting caught
Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998 | 6:34 a.m.
Clinton didn't acknowledge his affair with Monica Lewinsky until DNA tests on the stain on Lewinsky's dress were complete. Had Lewinsky not saved the dress, the president would no doubt still be denying the affair, and the American people would probably have continued to believe his lies.
Clinton's affair with Lewinsky was just a continuation of his dishonorable behavior over a period of many, many years.
Clinton says he has repented. However, the American people should remember the old saying: "You can't change the spots on a leopard."
