Letter: Vegas doesn't need another golf course

What else is new? When are Las Vegas voters and taxpayers going to wake up and smell the reality of county commissioner power. "Mr. Walters will spend $33 million on the 18-hole course ... and would use all revenue from the first decade to pay off the debt, but after that the county would receive an estimated $116 million over the subsequent 40 years."

Does Las Vegas really need another water-sucking golf course? Has the county done a study as to how the proposed course will effect the already-horrendous traffic glut on the Strip?

Millionaire investors and developers know how to build casino resorts, golf courses and racetracks but Las Vegas' roads and freeways are in a state of shambles.

The local traffic mess has not been fully addressed in a decade. But do county commissioners care?
