Man arrested in shooting

Diego Alcala was arrested late Monday on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon. He was being held at the Washoe County jail without bail.

Alcala is accused of shooting Omar Rodriguez, 19, early Monday in a motel parking lot on South Virginia Street.

Rodriguez died several hours later at Washoe Medical Center.

Both men were known gang members, police said.

An investigation continued.
