Letter: School Board erred in failing to allow for medical absences

Referral of children with these conditions to "alternative" programs is flagrantly idiotic. There is a vast difference between children with 10 medically-required absences because of an established illness vs. those whose absences are willfully anti-social.

Unfortunately, we seem to have elected School Board members who are too stupid to examine and understand these issues.

Perhaps we should examine their personal childhood school attendance patterns and see how many school days they missed, and why. This might prove to be very interesting.
