Letter: Las Vegas Valley needs to institute rent control

Another jump and I'm moving to another state. Las Vegas is so proud of their senior citizens. We can't afford this. I'm not rich, but I'm also not on welfare. I refuse to move into the old rundown neighborhoods. I've always lived in nice areas, wherever I lived.

Four to 5 percent is more than enough of an annual rent increase. Forty dollars to $50 a year is really too much. I'm being priced right out of my home. Even the rent in your senior complex's is no bargain.

Las Vegas had better wise up or you'll find yourselves with a city full of empty apartments and houses. This building frenzy is it not going to continue for another 10 years. Then what?
