Alleged kidnapping of LV woman ends in car crash

The alleged kidnapping of two Las Vegas women ended in a car crash on U.S. Highway 95 about 40 miles west of Needles, Calif., early Thursday morning.

Police said victims, a 25-year-old and a 27-year-old, were confronted by two men at 2 a.m. in the 2500 block of Sherwood Avenue. The men forced the women into a vehicle at gun point and drove from the Las Vegas Valley south on U.S. 95, according to Metro Police officer Steve Meriwether.

The driver apparently lost control of the vehicle which went off the road and rolled over around 3 a.m. near the Goffs Road exit.

One suspect was found hiding in a drainage ditch in the desert near the wreck and taken into custody, said officer Jody Miller of the Needles Sheriff Department. He has been tentatively identified as Frank Lee Minor, 32.

The other suspect, whose name was unavailable, was injured and taken into custody before being air lifted to University Medical Center.

The kidnapping victims, who also were injured, were taken to Colorado River Medical Center.

The two suspects have been charged with two counts of kidnapping with a deadly weapon, coercion, robbery with a deadly weapon and battery with a deadly weapon.
