Letter: Soesbe should be applauded

Regarding the suspension of UNLV baseball coach Rod Soesbe for grabbing one of his players around the collar:

I would think that a coach would be responsible to make a reasonably emphatic effort to point out his team's lack of good citizenship. What was more surprising was the immaturity demonstrated by one team member, who, when reasonably rebuked, called his daddy for help. Even more surprising was that his daddy, instead of telling his son to act like a man and straighten up, called university officials to complain about the incident.

I am sure the coach has asked himself is it really worth the insult and embarrassment? I hope he hangs in there; I am sure he has some young men who appreciate his efforts.
