Lawyer says Bobbitt didn't skip bail

William Cole also said Bobbitt quit working at a Lyon County brothel a few weeks ago. Cole questioned why his former employer would make a big deal out of Bobbitt not attending a birthday party last week.

Cole said Bobbitt has not violated any terms of his bail release, contrary to allegations raised last week by Moonlight Bunny Ranch owner Dennis Hof.

"Annie's Bail Bonds does not have a problem with John," Cole said. "And John will make his court appearances, has always made his court appearances and will continue to make his court appearances."

Last week, Bobbitt was a no show at the brothel when Hof threw him a birthday party. Hof expressed fears Bobbitt had skipped bail.

Cole said that's not true. He added that Hof has since been taken off the bond for Bobbitt's $10,000 bail.

Bobbitt gained notoriety in 1993 when his penis was severed by his wife and successfully reattached.

He has worked on and off at the brothel as a bartender and guest greeter.

Bobbitt was arrested in connection with the 1997 theft of some 150-thousand dollars worth of clothing from a now-defunct store in Fallon. While he's not charged with the theft, he's accused of receiving some of the clothing.
