A Clark County man filed suit in District Court accusing security officers at Spanish Trail of illegally detaining him.
Dan Bentz, who doesn't reside in the exclusive residential area, said he was invited to play in a tennis tournament there on Feb. 12. He said he was confronted by security officers when he went to the tennis court and thought he was in the middle of a dispute between homeowners disagreeing over who had tennis privileges.
The suit names the Spanish Trail Homeowners Association and accuses its security officers of false imprisonment and battery. Bentz seeks more than $10,000 in actual, general and exemplary damages in addition to costs and fees associated with the suit.
A spokeswoman for the homeowners association said the group had no comment on the suit.
