Letter: Buchanan should read history book

His greatest fault he can't correct. He is just too young and inexperienced. He is forgetting a glaring happening at the close of World War II. Hitler slaughtered an estimated six million Jews. Our reaction: Never Again! Millions of us still mean it.

The United States in 1945 agreed to the Nuremberg war crimes trials. There, the Allies decided, for the whole of eternity, since these German goals were capable of such a horrendous inhumanity to man, a monumental penalty had to be paid. The World Court sentenced some to death, others to life imprisonment.

However, first we had to capture them. Then we tried them. Those found guilty were summarily sentenced. Mr. Buchanan doesn't believe we should try to stop such treachery. Of course, if it were his wife and children caught in such a plight, he would handle it differently.

We either obey the international laws man has made, or we agree to become a minor world power. Which is it, Pat? Do you want to be president of a minor world power?
