Letter: Nevadans don't need fluoridated water

The $4 million or more necessary to just begin this program is another burden taxpayers do not need. Many items in daily use -- toothpaste, some bottled water, prepared foods and pop -- made with fluoridated water, must give an ample supply to us all.

If the fluoride used to fluoridate our water supply comes from the same source that Crest, Colgate, Aqua Fresh and other toothpaste makers use -- it will arrive in barrels clearly labeled POISON -- I don't want babies, children, or the elderly drinking poisoned water.

Surely the staff of the Community College of Southern Nevada and UNLV's science departments can recommend a better way to purify our water -- possibly a system such as Ethel M's?
