Bill loosens rules on rebates

Assembly Bill 666 says these refunds or rebates would be prohibited only if the state where the race took place outlawed these practices.

Assemblyman David Goldwater, D-Las Vegas, said the bill was sought by Las Vegas Dissemination Co. He said rebates are illegal in California so Nevada race books would not be able to offer bonuses on wagers at those tracks. The laws vary throughout the country.
