Letter: Returning wallet act of kindness

On April 7 my wife found a wallet sitting on top of a slot machine at the Rio hotel-casino. It was stuffed with money. I counted approximately $2,500.

Many people would have taken the money and left the casino. However, my wife knew the correct thing to do was return the wallet.

She was near security when she heard a senior citizen and his wife, in a wheelchair, claiming a lost wallet and filling in the appropriate forms. My wife handed the wallet to security, they checked the ID, and returned the wallet to him.

In return he gave my wife a $100 reward.

My wife felt good about returning the money. Some people might think she was stupid for giving back the wallet. Others might think she is an angel.

I think she is a fine example of human kindness.
