Week of the Family scheduled at UNLV

A forum, a retreat and a conference will focus on issues involving families and children during UNLV's Week of the Family, which begins Wednesday.

The forum, titled "Interchanges: A Focus on Partnerships for Families and Children," will be held 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History auditorium on the UNLV campus.

The Developmental Assets Planning Retreat is set for Thursday and Friday in the Richard Tam Alumni Center. A Child Welfare Conference will be held April 26 in the UNLV Moyer Student Union.

The hosts of the events are UNLV and the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs.

The forum will include a discussion about research and service projects for families and children. A panel discussion, moderated by Kirby Burgess, director of the Clark County Department of Family and Youth Services, will begin at 4 p.m. A reception will begin at 5 p.m. For more information about the forum call 895-4240.
