Hammargren still clinging to No. 2 license plate

Former Lt. Gov. Lonnie Hammargren is finding it hard to give up one of the perks of the office he once held.

Hammagren still tools around Las Vegas in his red sports car, touting he's No. 2.

When Bob Miller left the governor's office he traded his No. 1 license plate in for one that says X 1, but, but Hammargren hasn't changed plates.

A Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety spokeswoman said the Las Vegas neurosurgeon is breaking the law by driving an unregistered car.

"It's unfortunate. If he's stopped, he might get a ticket because his car wouldn't be registered," DMV spokeswoman Kimberly Evans said.
