Milwaukee detective arrested in casino robbery after fleeing in limo

Peter Pinchar, 45, was booked Friday into the Washoe County Jail for investigation of armed robbery, use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony and grand larceny.

Police said the suspect was escorted to the Flamingo Hilton in a limousine operated by Sierra West Limousine Service, then approached the cashier's cage and demanded money while displaying a handgun tucked into his waistband.

The suspect left the Hilton with an undisclosed amount of money and returned to the limousine in the resort's valet parking area.

When the chauffeur refused to leave, the suspect threatened to shoot him, police said. The chauffeur then fled the vehicle, and the suspect crawled into the front seat and drove away.

Police found the abandoned limousine several blocks away and arrested Pinchar later Friday afternoon at Harrah's Reno without incident.

Officers, who recovered a handgun and money, said Pinchar had no previous criminal record.

Pinchar was reported missing April 15 by the Milwaukee department.

Reno detectives also are investigating whether Pinchar committed a similar robbery Wednesday at the Flamingo Hilton.
