CARSON CITY -- Gov. Kenny Guinn on Wednesday signed into law a bill requiring public schools to begin each day with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
Assembly Bill 144 also says a school may set aside "appropriate time during the school day for additional patriotic observances."
The law becomes effective July 1.
The old law required schools to set aside at least one hour a week for patriotic exercises.
